Microsoft Surface: inside the new tablet - Telegraph.co.uk

The picture-by-picture guide to the innards of Microsoft's tablet also shows off the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, the Samsung NAND Flash and the 720p camera.

iFixit comments: "The exclusion of a 1080p rear-facing camera either means cost was a big concern, or that Microsoft's designers don't expect you to use the Surface as your main camera."

Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's chief executive, told CNBC that the Surface "is the product that I see customers wanting". He added: "You can go through the products from all those guys … and none of them has a product that you can really use. Not Apple. Not Google. Not Amazon. Nobody has a product that lets you work and play that can be your tablet and your PC. Not at any price point."
