The shots show a corner of the super-slim device, as well as the 8GB of RAM that the laptop will pack under the hood. In terms of connectivity, the new MacBook Pro will rock two Thunderbolt slots, HDMI, two USB ports and an SD reader.

The screen, at 2560x1600, along with that slimline frame, means the price is set to be hefty, with US sites claiming it could be much $1,699, $500 more than the current 13-inch MacBook Pro. Expect that to be around the £1,500 here in Blighty.

We'll be bringing you all the news of this and the iPad Mini live from Apple's press event on 23 October. Tune into our live blog for all the latest.
