Apple iPad 4th generation review - Telegraph.co.uk

There is no choice between this or the third generation iPad. While Apple typically lowers the price of the previous generation and keeps it in the product line, the fourth generation is a straight replacement for the third. The cheaper 9.7-inch iPad remains the iPad 2.

The short time between upgrades - the third generation iPad was announced in March - suggests that this is the iPad that Apple would have released earlier this year if it could have done so. Those who bought the third generation might feel a little aggrieved to have slipped from the cutting edge quite so soon.

Anyone buying an iPad for the first time, or upgrading from an iPad 1 or iPad 2, will get their hands on a stunning device with a glorious display and the best range of tablet apps available.
