Asus Taichi review - Telegraph.co.uk

Indeed, the versatile form factor is fine, coupled with a 256GB SSD, USB 3 ports and two Full HD displays. Micro VGA, Micro HDMI and an ethernet port are surprising additions on such a slim device, as is the Bang and Olufsen sound system. It's bolting the two screens together that has forced compromises.

And where things start to go badly wrong is the dim, matt internal display and the battery life which hovers not much above three hours. The fact that you can theoretically run both screens independently is useful without being a particularly frequent requirement.

And as that internal display is not a touchscreen, it makes it a real difficulty to recommend the Taichi – except for one thing: at the lower price it's a good value machine. And Asus has a great track record of rapidly improving products, meaning this model is likely to get even cheaper.
