Microsoft Play Brings XBLA Titles to Windows 8 and RT Devices - IGN

Rejoice, Windows customers: games are coming! Microsoft has brought popular XBLA games to PCs (and the much-maligned Microsoft Surface) through its new program, Microsoft Play.

Launching with 15 well-known Xbox games available, and users will be able to access their own Xbox gamertag, statistics and even a new Marketplace down the road.

Diehard XBLA fans might be disappointed that the starting 15 titles are on the older end of XBLA's offerings, and a bulk of them are standard proprietary titles — Solitare, Minesweeper and Mah Jong are available, while new and more popular titles like The Binding of Isaac didn't make the cut. It's also worth noting that Toy Soldiers: Cold War is not available on Windows RT, which cuts the more exciting playable games down to just a handful.

However, the promise of a wider selection in the future means that Microsoft Play can not only be successful, but also finally convince those on the fence to finally convert to Windows 8.
