Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC Windows Phone 8X now available for pre-order from Best Buy

Best Buy has opened up pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X. Unlike many on-line retailers, Best Buy has priced both handsets but as per usual, details on when both devices will be available remains sketchy.

The Lumia 920 - as seen above - will be available in yellow, red, white, cyan and black. The device is available for $149.99 with new activation (2 year contract) and $599.99 unactivated (unlocked). The high-end device boasts of Pureview camera technology, a 4.5in PureMotion HD+ display and the ability to be charged wirelessly. Other specifications include a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, integrated NFC, 4G LTE but lacks microSD memory support.

Meanwhile, the Windows Phone 8X by HTC (that's the correct name buy the way) is only available in purple (California Blue if you want to be specific). The HTC flagship is available for for $99.99 with new activation (2 year contract) and $599.99 unactivated (unlocked). As we reported a few days ago, AT&T is indeed offering an 8 GB version and this happens to be it, hence the $99.99 price tag. The $599.99 for an unlocked device is questionable, considering that the Lumia 920 is available for the same price.

However, beside the poxy 8 GB of internal storage, the 8X is a pretty solid device. The device comes with a 4.3-inch Super LCD II 720p display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, 8-megapixel f2/0 BSI camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle 88 degrees lens, Beats Audio, and NFC. Unfortunately, there is no SD-slot for expanding the poxy 8 GB of storage.

Should you choose to go head and order one of the devices, let us know how you get on. Here is where to order.

Cheers Fabio for the tip.
