Asus MeMO Pad FHD 10 preview: 10" Android tablet for full HD entertainment - PC Advisor

The MeMo Pad FHD 10 has a full HD screen with a resolution of 1920x1200.

Described by ASUS as "the perfect tablet for full HD entertainment", the star of the show is clearly the MeMo Pad FHD's 10.1in IPS display, which has a resolution of 1920x1200. Although this resolution isn't as high as devices like the 4th Generation iPad andGoogle's Nexus 10, it still has a more than respectable pixel density of 226ppi. This means it is likely to display crisp and clear text with minimal visible aberrations. See also: The top 10 best tablets: What's the best tablet you can buy in 2013?

Weighing 580g, the MeMO Pad FHD 10 is lighter than both the iPad and the Nexus 10, but is thicker than both at 9.5mm. ASUS produces both black and white variants in international markets. Take a look at Group test: what's the best Android tablet?

The ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor, has 2GB RAM and comes with 32GB of internal memory. A microSD card slot allows users to expand the storage.

Other features include a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera that doubles as a full HD, 1080p video recorder, a front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera, and a non-removable lithium polymer battery that ASUS says will last for up to 10 hours of video playback.

The ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version of Android though ASUS does pre-load a number of its own apps. These include SuperNote Lite, and the ASUS Studio photo editing utility. There's also the addition of Miracast compatibility, which allows video to be streamed wirelessly to a compatible TV.
