HTC 8S gets UK release date tomorrow - Know Your Mobile (blog)

The HTC 8S gets its UK release date tomorrow and will be available for £239.99 from UK tech-retailer Expansys.

Running Windows Phone 8, HTC's 8S is the launch stable-mate to the slightly higher-end and thoroughly excellent HTC 8X. Both devices run a 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 chipset, feature Beats audio, and come in a variety of colours.

HTC previously stated that the HTC 8S would be getting a UK release date towards the end of November, which is right about now. Expansys says the affordable Windows Phone 8 handset will available from November 23 – that's tomorrow, by the way.

We've yet to review the HTC 8S but have spent quite a bit of time with its bigger brother, the HTC 8X, which two members of Know Your Mobile actually preferred to Nokia's Lumia 920.

The 8S is smaller than the 8X and features a 4-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. As displays go it's up there with the best of them being a Super LCD 2 setup, so expect crisp visuals and detailed colouring.

The 8S will be priced like the HTC One V and come in a variety of colours: Domino (black and white), California Blue (blue), and Silver and Yellow.

Pitched at users who don't want to pay flagship prices, the 8S, like the One S before it, looks to quite a compelling proposition at the lower-end of the Windows Phone space.
