An Xbox survey may have revealed HTC's next Windows Phone as the Titan 3.
When the rumours started circulating the web that HTC would be releasing a range of phones sporting Microsoft's Windows Phone 8, the evidence strongly hinted at three devices.
Only two emerged for the global launch - the HTC 8X and 8S - but what could be an accidental reveal on Microsoft's part suggests that a third handset, the HTC Titan 3 may well be en route, possibly in time for CES 2013.
The original Titan was considered a behemoth of its day thanks to its 4.7-inch WVGA display. Its 16-megapixel specced successor, the Titan 2 never made it onto UK soil, with an exclusive release in North America. It's worth bearing in mind that the Titan 3, if real, could share the same fate.
The leak, brought to light by WP Central, comes in the form of a survey Microsoft distributed to Xbox Live users, specifically asking about the Titan 3 in context with very recent handsets.
That these handsets include the Windows Phone 8 powered Nokia Lumia 920 suggests that the entry wasn't just a typo referring to the almost one year old, Windows Phone 7.5-laden Titan 2.
In the same breath though, all the other devices are currently available, making the Titan 3 an unlikely prospect for the holiday season.
With reveals of the second Titan at CES 2012, and HTC's global Android showcase expected to land in February for MWC 2013, CES 2013 seems like a fitting time for HTC to show off its new Windows Phone 8 wares.
Naturally, we'll be covering everything in January so if indeed the Titan 3 is real and en route, you can be sure we'll be on it.
