Apple iPhone 4 and 4S Demand Still Strong in the March Quarter - Forbes

It appears that the iPhone 4 and 4S still have strong demand.  In Apple's January conference call CEO Tim Cook said "iPhone 4 was actually in constraint for the entire quarter and sales remained strong".

Digitimes published an article yesterday saying that Apple's iPhone 4S contributed 20 million of the 47.8 million iPhones sold in the December quarter.  More important is their supply chain checks indicate that demand for the iPhone 4 is still strong in the March quarter.  While supply checks can give an incorrect view of the environment overall I believe Digitimes supply checks are better than their outlook for new devices.

Apple has been using its balance sheet to help increase sales in overseas markets.  In January it ran an installment plan sales promotion in China and per a BusinessWeek article it appears it is running a similar program in India.

While it does not have a model breakdown Kantar has been measuring iOS' market share in Urban China.  The numbers below are twelve week averages so it does appear that Apple is holding its own and picking up some share.
