New images of HTC's 5in J Butterfly smartphone have surfaced, prompting speculation that an official European availability announcement could take place on 6 December.
The J Butterfly, as the device is known in Japan - or the HTC Droid DNA to US consumers - is still without a Europe-specific moniker, with HTC moving to deny rumours that it would be dubbed the HTC Deluxe when it arrives in the UK in the near future.
Responding to a query on its Facebook page posted by a fan who had seen Friday's image leak on GSMArena, HTC was firm that the potential name was not a part of its European plans for the device.
"The Deluxe unfortunately will not come to Europe," read the response.
The same source that delivered the alleged product images to GSMArena also ventured the prediction of an early-December announcement.
The Deluxe/Butterfly J/Droid DNA is thought to be the world's first smartphone featuring a 5in full HD display that confidently bests - on paper at least - most high-end smartphones we can think of, including Apple's iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3.
The new 5in HTC device is reported to pack a staggering pixel density of 440ppi, which is impressive compared to the latest iPhone's 326ppi. However, given its large screen, it's more likely to be a direct rival to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - easily bests that device's 267ppi, too.
Elsewhere, HTC's next flagship handset will run on the Android platform and is thought to be powered by a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It will have 16GB of storage, an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel camera on the front, and full HD video recording capabilities.
