More than a month after the November 2 iPad mini UK release date, Apple's first 7.9-inch tablet has hit high-speed networks in cellular form with the iPad mini 4G launching on EE.
The UK's first 4G network, EE has confirmed that it will offer the iPad mini 4G on pay monthly plans from today, December 6, with the Google Nexus 7 rival to be joined on the high-speed service by its 9.7-inch full-size sibling, the 4G compatible Apple iPad 4.
Whilst the 16GB Wi-Fi 4G iPad mini will set wannabe owners back £369 when brought upfront and SIM-free direct from Apple, those looking to pair the device with EE's 4G speeds will need to fork out just £49.99 up front, plus a £35.99 monthly contract fee for the next 24 months.
Although this deal will see the final two year tablet costs top £913, those taking up the deal will receive an 8GB monthly data allowances enabling them to make full use of EE's 4G speeds with the likes of movie streaming, music downloading and a considerable chunk of web browsing.
For those not wanting such a considerable monthly outlay, EE has confirmed it will also offer the 16GB iPad mini with 3GB of monthly 4G data for just £25.99 and a £149.99 upfront payment, a package that will set users back a smidge over £773 during the two year contract period. For those after a larger storage capacity iPad mini, EE will also offer the 32GB and 64GB devices with contracted one-off payments hitting £99.99 and £149.99 respectively.
For those either not keen on plumping for 4G speeds or not yet covered by the still fledgling service, EE siblings T-Mobile and Orange have confirmed they will offer both the iPad mini and iPad 4 on 3G services with plans starting from just £21 per month.

Apple's first venture into the 7-inch tablet market, the iPad mini plays host to a 7.9-inch LED-backlit multi-touch IPS display with a 1024 x 768p resolution and 163ppi image density alongside a dual-core A5 processor and the company's new 8-pin Lightning port connector.
Measuring in at just 7.2mm thick, the iPad mini 4G is a mere 312g in weight and partners a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities and a second 1.2-megapixel snapper on the device's fore. Keeping users covered for a full working day and beyond, the iPad mini battery is touted as boasting a 10 hour lifespan.
